Ocean Downs is pleased to offer a quartet of late-closing series this summer, featuring two series for two-year-olds and two for claiming pacers.
2-Year-Old Series
The Bucky Gray Jr. Memorial Pace & The Tom Cooke Memorial Trot
- Eligibility: Open to 2-year-olds.
- Schedule: Kicks off the first full week of July (consists of 2 legs and a final).
- Purses: $7,500 and $8,500 preliminary legs leading to a $12,500-added final.
- Nomination Deadline: June 22 ($100 fee per horse).
Claiming Series
- The David Hill III Claiming Pace
- Base Claiming Price: $5,000
- Dates: June 15 – July 13
- Nomination Deadline: June 8
- The Diane “Mum” Stevenson Memorial Claiming Pace
- Base Claiming Price: $10,000
- Dates: July 15 – August 5
- Nomination Deadline: July 6
Both claiming series feature three preliminary legs and a final with progressively higher purses and claiming prices in each leg. A $150 nomination fee is required for each series.
