Our committees ensure that every aspect of the owner and trainer experience—from the quality of the track to the size of the purse—is handled with expertise.

Annual Banquet

Organize and supervise the annual banquet and other social functions. 

Priority: Help create a strong standardbred community.

Benefits

Explore and obtain benefits for Cloverleaf Members.

Review and negotiate material contracts for Cloverleaf.

Coordinate and arrange for hiring of employees.

Integrity

Identify and advocate for changes to racing rules that will promote integrity and a level playing field for horsemen and women.

Priority: To work with the MRC and racetracks to promote integrity, including faster resolution of alleged violations and possible changes to drug testing.

Legislative Affairs

Represent Cloverleaf in dealing with its lobbyists, state and local officials, the Maryland Racing Commission and other horse organizations.

Priorities: Protect harness racing and maintain/increase purse levels. Maintain a positive presence with Maryland politicians and other officials.

Membership Engagement

Publicize harness racing in Maryland. Work with Rosecroft and Ocean Downs on Marketing. Maintain website.

Priority: To establish strong relationships with our stakeholders, including racetracks, bettors and neighboring communities, and to increase handle.
