Publicity and Newsletter

Cloverleaf has formed new committees. We need your participation on those committees to help us protect our livelihoods. Below is a list of committees for you to sign up to serve on one or more committees. Please complete and return those forms to us. 

We have tremendous members with a wide variety of skills that can pitch in in many ways.

  • Bylaws–Review and propose changes to Bylaws.
  • Website–Update, maintain and provide content for the Cloverleaf website.

     

  • Social Media–Create a positive presence for Maryland harness racing on social media.

     

  • Track Relations–Work closely with racetracks to maintain good relations and promote racing

     

  • Legislative Affairs–Create a positive presence for Cloverleaf with State and local officials, the Maryland Racing Commission and other horse organizations.
          Government officials and organizations–Increase the profile of harness racing racing with State and local officials. 

          Non-Government organizations–coordination with other horse organizations.

  • Finance–Prepare budgets, monitor expenses, arrange for annual audits. 

  • Political Action Committee–Operate the PAC; solicit and pool campaign contributions from members and donate those funds to campaigns for or against candidates, ballot initiatives, or legislation.

  • Marketing and Promotions–Work with racetracks and independently to increase attendance and handle at tracks, and to increase interest in harness racing.
          Drive a Harness Horse–Arrange for weekly two seat races for legislators, owners and public.
          College Outreach–Take actions to attract local students to attend races.
          Community Outreach–Take actions to create a positive relationship with local communities.

          Special Events–Participate in special events conducted by racetracks and organize special events.

  • Employment/Hiring–Set expectations for and evaluate employees; identify candidates for positions with Cloverleaf.

  • Annual Banquet–Organize and supervise the annual banquet

  • Publicity and Newsletter–Arrange for publicity for racing, and write and distribute a newsletter twice a month.
