🛡Health Certificate Requirements – January 2026

Per the Maryland Department of Agriculture, please adhere to the following strict health protocols:
    1. Standard Requirement: Every horse must have a certified veterinary inspection (CVI) health certificate issued within the past 30 days.

    2. EHV-Positive States: Horses shipping from a state with a known EHV positive must have a CVI issued within the past 5 days (As of 1/11/2026 this applies to the following states: Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, & Pennsylvania).

    3. Mandatory Statement: All health certificates must include the following text:
      "The equine(s) listed on this CVI have, during the 21 days prior to the shipment date, not originated from a premises under EHV-1 quarantine, not been exposed to an EHV-1 positive equine, and not attended any event where an EHV-1 positive equine has been confirmed or suspected."

Failure to have proper and timely health certificates on file will result in the horse being scratched.
