Ft. Washington, MD — For the second straight card, 22-year-old Trae Porter won three of the first four races on his way to a Tuesday night (Feb. 6) grand slam at Rosecroft.

Porter and Big Bad Mosa won together for the second straight week for trainer Mike Patterson, putting the finishing touches on a great night of work in the finale.

Porter started the card in fine fashion, winning twice for Cory Mumford and Ezy Ranch Inc., as he put Silly Choice in the winner’s circle in her season’s debut. The 3-year old Courtly Choice filly won a division of the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund as a 2-year-old in a brief five-race campaign.

“Cory really thinks she’s the real deal. She’s still a little green, but raced really well,” Porter said.

Porter won with McWilly for the second straight week for Mumford and Roll The Music for Brian and Katie Callahan.

Justin Walters won twice on the card, winning with Explosive Drama for trainer Jason Walters, as well as Sheishungry for Leonard Hubbard and trainer Basil Sapienza.

Jonathan Roberts, like Porter, continues to set a brisk pace at the top of the drivers’ standings. He won with Pasta Momma for Manklin Creek LLC and Proud Mary for trainer Michael Hall. Proud Mary is headed to the breeding shed and is scheduled to be bred to Tattoo Artist for Let It Ride Stables and Odds On Racing.

Corey Braden won twice, scoring with Rose Run Toni, giving Patterson a training double, and Crossfit Mouse, who he owns and is trained by Stacey McLenaghan.

McLenaghan has been on fire in the Mid Atlantic Amateur Drivers Club, winning twice on Thursday night in three divisions. Marty Monkhouser A, a 15-year old by Village Jasper, won for the 58th time in his career and is now two-for-two for trainer John Wagner. Wagner has also given McLenagahn the nod aboard Spee Dee Shark who is four-for-four since reporting to the Wagner barn. McLenagahn has won four times in nine drives so far in 2024.

Newton “Yogi” Sheridan won the other division of the MAADC with Lenda Hand Man for Debbie and Scott Warnick.

Jared Moyer secured a win for Carlin Savage and Jay Gannon aboard Sake Bomb.
