Ft. Washington, MD —

Closing from eighth last week, Pasta Momma simply had too far to come to catch Talk Show Chica in last week’s Mares Open at Rosecroft. On Tuesday night (Oct. 31), Jonathan Roberts put the 3-year-old Huntsville filly on the front and she did not let him down, winning in 1:52.4.

Pasta Momma set a new lifetime mark in what was her ninth win of 2023. Michael Hall trains the filly, who has now hit the board in 19 of 23 starts this year, for Manklin Creek LLC.

It was one of three wins for Hall and two wins for Roberts on the night.

Hugh O’Neil and Funnyfunnyriddle sat a perfect pocket trip and sprinted past Jammin Jack (Frank MIlby) to upset in the $10,000 Open Trot in 1:56.2. Chris Scicluna trains the Maryland-bred son of Lockkeeper for Brenda Hahn.

Johnathan Ahle had three wins on the card, trainer Steve LeBlanc won twice, and Frank and Don Milby teamed up for a double. Miss Lucy Ivy won her fourth race in the last five starts for driver Justin Walters and trainer Jason Walters. She was claimed out of the race for $12,000 by Robert Cacamese for LeBlanc.

Matt Zuccarello and Stacey Mclenaghan won divisions of the Mid-Atlantic Amateur Drivers Club.
