Eighteen-year-old harness racing driver Billy Carter won four times on the Tuesday night (Feb. 7) Rosecroft Raceway card, continuing the oval’s reputation for launching the career of young drivers.

Rosecroft has been a place that has given experience to solid young drivers including Luke Hanners, Austin Hanners, Trae Porter, Declan Donoway, Bryson Dunning, and Cole Olsen and they all started at Rosecroft before they could legally drink an adult beverage and have won races over the past couple of seasons.

Carter scored with A Lady Sizzling in the Diane Stevenson Memorial for trainer Thomas Armour to highlight his four wins.

A Lady Sizzling and Carter were in 6th place at the top of the stretch in the 3rd race and closed like a rocket in the stretch to win by a nose in 1:56.4 over Hillbilly Jet (Eric Davis).

Jacob Roglitz, 22, won his first ever race at Rosecroft winning the finale with the late closing mare, American Sombrero for Owner-trainer Brian Tomlinson.

Jonathan Roberts, the defending dash champion at Rosecroft, took the $13,000 Trot as Judge Bob, nailed the tough Stacy McLenaghan entry of Crossfit Mouse by a half a length in 1:54.4 with Creekside Pete third after a brilliantly timed move from third entering the stretch.

It was the 39th career win for the homebred of trainer Megan Roberts and the Graham Grace Stables and was one of two wins for Roberts on the card. Jonathan Ahle won twice, while Adrian Wisher Jr., and Paul Kramer won divisions of the Mid-Atlantic Amateur Drivers Club.
