Ft. Washington, MD — The 13-1 shot Leonard’s Legacy sat a pocket trip behind leader Can’t Beach That and passed him to the inside in the final strides to score a win in the $17,500 Maryland Exclusive Handicap at Rosecroft Thursday night (Feb. 2).
Trae Porter drove the winner for breeder-owner Leonard Hubbard and trainer Basil Sapienza. The son of Tobago Cays paced the mile in 1:51.3.
It was one of two wins on the card for Porter, while Jonathan Roberts and Russell Foster each won three times.
